The Jonathan Roy effect

When I saw the latest example of hockey violence on TVA news the other day (we always watch TVA from Québec over supper -- after all, our household is 50% francophone, approx. 16% anglophone (c'est moi!) and approx. 33% allophone (our two Yorkies)), I immediately let out a belly laugh. Not because of Jonathan Roy's temper and the punches he delivered to a defenceless goalie, but because I immediately had visions running through my head of Stephen Harper taking the place of Roy and Stéphane Dion serving as his punching bag.

Apparently, I was not the only one with such visions.

The Globe and Mail ran this cartoon today, showing federal finance minister Jim Flaherty beating up the Ontario Liberals:
