Reasonable accommodation
You know, you just have to love people and their various quirks. After several years of blogging, for example, one of the odd things I have learned or seen is what a lot of readers have told me again and again.
Believe it or not, but there are a lot of blog readers who simply will not post comments on blogs hosted on platforms that they feel uncomfortable with for some reason.
Some say, for example:
"Oh, I have a Blogger account, which I can't use on your Typepad blog to comment, so I won't."
Well, apart from the fact that you don't have to create a separate reader account for my Typepad blog (other Typepad bloggers require TypeKey accounts, but I don't), it is still odd.
Or:
"I love Wordpress and for me, it's almost like a religion. I won't even read blogs unless they are Wordpress."
Well, here's some good news.
Those who have no problem with Typepad can read my regular online columns at www.wernerpatels.com.
For those who like their Blogger, they can read my columns at www.wernerpatels.ca (this way, I was also able to use my .ca domain. See? I learned from Ed Stelmach's mistake of ignoring one of the major domains for his name).
Finally, those who consider Wordpress their "religion", go and knock yourselves out at www.albertapundit.com.
I still say that Typepad is the best and most professional (and also the most reliable) blogging platform, but what do I know?
